'I Believe' Brings Citizens Together To Talk About Public Education

A new WEAC media campaign that launched this month brings together a diverse group of messengers, all sharing their common belief that great schools benefit everyone.

Built around the phrase "I believe," the media campaign promotes the values, beliefs and successes of Wisconsin's public schools and affirms the value great public schools provide to the community. To do this, WEAC is using a variety of community-based message forums, such as newspapers, billboards, radio, regional Web messages and television spots. There is also an “I believe” Web site that brings together the volunteers who have stepped forward with their messages and encourages everyone to join the conversation, because it will take all of us - working together - to maintain Wisconsin's proud tradition of public education excellence.

There are no actors in this campaign – only volunteers who offered their time and talents to promote their beliefs in the value, tradition and importance of Wisconsin's public schools. They know that great schools benefit everyone, and WEAC appreciates their support.

Messages will appear throughout the year and they'll speak to the core values educators and the public share regarding Wisconsin's public schools. For instance, we believe every kid deserves a great school. We believe investments in great schools build strong communities. We believe Wisconsin takes pride in great schools. And most of all, we believe great schools benefit everyone. These values are affirmed in research, based on public opinion and member studies conducted in 2007.

It’s our hope that this campaign captures and promotes our core values for Wisconsin’s public education system – and that it speaks to some of the many audiences who contribute to efforts to provide great schools.

Great things are happening in Wisconsin’s public schools – and we believe great schools benefit everyone.
