Join Team Weac At Madison'S 2006 Race For The Cure

It's time to register for Madison's 2006 Race for the Cure, which is Saturday, June 3. Proceeds benefit the Madison affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

This year is the 9th annual Komen Madison Race for the Cure. The Madison Race has generated net proceeds of more than $1.3 million for local breast cancer programs during the past 8 years! Race for the Cure teams have been instrumental in this success. WEAC is looking forward to participating again!

An estimated 212,920 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the United States in 2006. An estimated 1,720 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed among men in 2006. Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women, second only to lung cancer in cancer deaths.

Registration fees are $20 for adults ($30 after May 19) and $10 for children. Each participant who joins the “WEAC Great Schools” team will receive a free TEAM WEAC visor while supplies last. Please pass along this information to anyone interested in joining or supporting the WEAC team.

WEAC's co-captians for the 2006 Madison Race for the Cure are WEAC Vice President Terry Meyer and WEAC Secretary-Treasurer Mary Bell.
