Six Weac Members Featured In Newspapers Statewide
Look closely at your Sunday newspaper and you may find a picture and
special article written by a WEAC colleague. WEAC is featuring six members
in a unique newspaper advertising campaign about the challenges facing
teachers and education support professionals in Wisconsin's public schools.
The campaign began in January and will continue until June 2006. The
ads are appearing in 10 daily newspapers statewide, 23 weekly newspapers
that serve the Milwaukee area, and a business publication.
Each ad includes a picture of a WEAC member, an editorial about an
education issue, and the Great Schools message. Because the ads are
both promotional pieces and editorials, WEAC calls them "advertorials."
The advertorial campaign is in its sixth year. Advertorials from previous
years are available on OnWEAC.
Below is the first in this new series of ads. (Check back to meet
each of the members who are being featured in the 2005-06 campaign.)
The ads are appearing on the last Sunday of the month through June in the following daily newspapers:
- Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
- Wisconsin State Journal (Madison)
- Green Bay Press Gazette
- Appleton Post Crescent
- CNI - Milwaukee suburban publications
- Eau Claire Leader Telegram
- La Crosse Tribune
- Wausau Daily Herald
- Kenosha News
- Superior Daily Telegram
