Nea Foundation Offers Grants For Big Ideas
The NEA Foundation is seeking grant proposals from WEAC/NEA members
for two grant programs. Innovation Grants and Learning & Leadership
Grants are available for all subjects, including the arts, literacy,
science, and technology.
All members who are practicing K-12 public school teachers, education
support professionals or higher education faculty and staff at public
colleges and universities are encouraged to apply. The foundation awards
grants of up to $5,000.
The foundation accepts applications on a year-round, ongoing basis.
Educators who submit proposals by June 1, 2005 will know if their grants
are approved by November 15, 2005. The grants fund activities for 12
months from the award dates.
The grants are funded in part by the Staples Recycle for Education
program, which has raised more than $1.8 million for public schools
since 2003.
