March 3 conference focuses on inclusive education

Friends and peers who support inclusive education will be coming together March 3 at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for a conference titled Planting the Seeds of Inclusion: Supporting the Growth of All Children. Organized by the UW-Oshkosh College of Education and Human Services, the conference provides practical information and training for educators, parents, caregivers and others who support the growth and learning of children (birth to age 22) with learning or developmental disabilities. Registration is $60 for educators, and $30 for students and individuals with a disability and/or their family members.

Who Should Attend?

  • Current and future teachers at early childhood, elementary, middle and secondary levels
  • School administrators
  • Parents and caregivers of children with disabilities
  • Community members

Inspiring Keynote Address

Authentic relationships among between caregivers and educators can be messy and frustrating. Those who succeed in creating genuine connections between parents and teachers or caregivers discover that their bonds act like a powerful fertilizer. Nurturing the growth of a caring adult community surrounds children with love. This makes inclusion flourish and young brains thrive.  Lynn A.
