National Board Scholarships

Good News! The 2011-2012 scholarship application is now available! Eligible candidates should apply here. Below is a list of available scholarship for 2011-2011 candidate cycle.

  • Amgen scholarship funds are available for first-time, retake and Take One! candidates teaching in San Francisco Regional San Francisco Regional Counties, Ventura County and MLA Parter Schools in California, Front Range Counties in Colorado, Jefferson County and Clarksville Community School Cooperation in Kentucky, Greater Boston Regional Counties in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Puerto Rico, and Seattle Regional Counties in Washington.
  • Boeing scholarship funds are available for first-time candidates who teach in Southern California districts.
  • Citgo Refining Chemicals Co. scholarship funds are available for first-time and retake candidates who teach in Corpus Christi, Texas.
  • Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in Western Pennsylvania.
  • Friends of Alaska Scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in Alaska that are not eligible for federal fee subsidy.
  • Friends of Florida Scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in Florida that are not eligible for federal fee subsidy.
  • Friends of Fulton County Scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in Fulton County Georgia that are not eligible for federal fee subsidy.
  • Friends of South Carolina Scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in South Carolina.
  • Georgia Pacific scholarship funds are available over a three year period for teachers who teach in Atlanta Public Schools.
  • GlaxoSmithKline scholarship funds are available for candidates pursuing the Early Childhood/Generalist, Middle Childhood/Generalist, Early Adolescence/Science, and Adolescence and Young Adulthood/Science certificates. Funds are available for first-time and retake candidates who teach in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia public school districts.
  • Chase scholarship funds are available for first-time and retake candidates nationwide who teach in schools with 50% or more free or reduced lunch. Chase offers two re-take scholarships ($600) to candidates who received an initial (first-time) scholarship. Teachers in eligible districts in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Texas, and Utah must identify at least three teachers from their school district who will form a cohort to complete the requirements of National Board Certification.
  • Northrop Grumman scholarship funds are available for teachers pursuing science, math and generalist certificates. First-priority will be given to teachers who teach in schools with 50% or more free or reduced lunch. Funds are available to first-time, retake and Take One! candidates who teach in the following locations: Melbourne, Fla.; St. Augustine, Fla.; Northern Virginia Region and Washington D.C.. Funds are also available for retake and Take One! candidates who teach in the following locations: Huntsville, Ala.; Louisiana and Mississippi Delta Regions; Long Island in New York; Hampton Roads and Newport News Regions in Virginia.
  • Northrop Grumman scholarship funds are available for teachers pursuing science, math, and generalist certificates in California. First priority will be given to math and science teachers. Funds are available to first-time candidates that participate in candidate support programs offered by one of California's new Professional Teaching Development Centers.
  • Pfizer scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in Groton, Connecticut.
  • Pittsburgh Initiative II scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in Pittsburgh Public School District.
  • Stuart Foundation scholarship funds have all been allocated for the 2010-2011 candidate cycle.
  • UPS scholarship funds are available for first-time candidates who teach in Arizona and pursuing certification in Early and Middle Childhood/Literacy: Reading Language Arts.
  • WAMU has become Chase scholarship funds are available first-time candidates who teach in Utah.
  • Weyerhaeuser scholarship funds are available for math, science and generalist teachers. Candidates must teach in Weyerhaeuser operating locations in Alabama, Alaska, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Washington. As of December 1, 2011 these funds will be available to teachers across Weyerhaeuser states.
