Assessment Centers transition to Pearson
5/21/2009 3:43:00 PM
As of January 1, 2009, Pearson VUE is the National Board’s testing contractor and will administer assessment center exercises at its conveniently located computer-based assessment centers. The 2008-2009 candidates will be able to complete the assessment center exercises from January 5, 2009, through June 15, 2009. The following changes will make it easier for candidates to schedule, prepare for, and complete the assessment center exercises in 2009:
-
Pearson VUE will administer assessment center exercises at computer-based assessment called Pearson Professional Centers (PPCs). Assessment center exercises for all certificate areas (including Music and World Languages Other than English, which previously required testing at a supplemental site) will be administered at PPCs.
-
Candidates can schedule, cancel, and reschedule assessment center appointments online and through the Pearson VUE Call Center (available late Fall 2008).
-
The candidate may access a Step-By Step Online Scheduling Guide.
-
The candidate may access a hands-on-tool to prepare for the assessment center experience (available October 2008). All 2008-2009 candidates are being notified of the assessment center changes. Candidates will be encouraged to read the Assessment Center Policy and Guidelines (available on the NBPTS website) for detailed assessment center instructions and policies. We encourage you to visit NBPTS and Pearson VUE’s Web sites regularly for up-to-date changes to the assessment center information.
