Recertification results ‘send a clear signal’

WEAC statement on statewide recertification results

The following statement regarding recertification of local bargaining units under new rules imposed by the governor and his followers in the state Legislature can be attributed to Mary Bell, a Wisconsin Rapids teacher and president of the Wisconsin Education Association Council:

“The overwhelmingly positive results send a clear signal to Governor Walker that his divisive approach to governing and his cuts of $1.6 billion to schools do not reflect Wisconsin values. As a union, our members will stay united as a voice for educators, students and schools, as we continue to focus on the upcoming recall election.”
