Student WEA wins four 2008 NEA Student Program awards
Continuing its tradition for national recognition of excellence, the Student Wisconsin Education Association was awarded four NEA-Student Program national awards to recognize the hard work done by leaders and members at our local student chapters.
The winners are:
- Carthage College: Outstanding Local Excellence (small chapter).
- University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire: Outstanding Local Web Site.
- University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point: Outstanding Local Newsletter.
- Wisconsin Lutheran College: Outstanding Local Leader (Alicia Wilson).
Student WEA members are WEAC members and leaders who attend both state and private colleges and universities and are studying to become educators. There are 2,100 Student WEA members who are engaged in various organizing activities at their chapters that benefit their schools and Wisconsin’s K-12 public schools and communities. In addition, they attend professional conferences and engage in leadership trainings offered throughout the year.
