Rosen reappointed to WTCS Board

Governor Jim Doyle Wednesday (September 6, 2006) reappointed Dr. Michael Rosen to the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Board. Rosen is a faculty member at Milwaukee Area Technical College and president of Wisconsin American Federation of Teachers Local 212.

Rosen's initial appointment to the WTCS State Board last September was rejected by the Republican-controlled State Senate.

WEAC President Stan Johnson issued the following statement in support of Rosen’s appointment:

“WEAC applauds Governor Doyle's reappointment of Michael Rosen to the Wisconsin Technical College System Board. 

“The rejection of Dr. Rosen's first WTCS State Board appointment by the Republican-controlled State Senate last spring was a slap in the face of working people and union members across Wisconsin. 

“Dr. Rosen is a tireless advocate for technical education and Wisconsin workers, and he will be an extremely effective voice for Wisconsin's technical colleges.”
