Prior to beginning his career in the association, Morgan served seven years as the full-time released president of the Rockford Education Association. He taught middle school science in the Rockford Public Schools as well at Roosevelt Junior High School in MPS.

"We are confident and optimistic about the future of the MTEA in Tom Morgan's hands," says MTEA President Dennis Oulahan. "He has skills, knowledge and commitment to the teaching profession that will serve us well in the years ahead."

"I feel very comfortable leaving the MTEA with Tom Morgan as its executive director," says outgoing Executive Director Sam Carmen. "I believe he will continue MTEA's tradition of working together with families and the broader community to strengthen our public schools."

The Milwaukee Teachers' Education Association is a labor union representing approximately 8,000 teachers and other education professionals working in Milwaukee Public Schools. The union's mission is to advocate for quality public schools and for educators by leading, challenging and working for change to ensure a better future for all members and for the students and families they serve.
