Staples Recycling Program Helps PDA, Environment
Take your used inkjet and laser toner printer cartridges
to a Staples store near
you and earn money for Wisconsin's great schools while helping to protect
the environment.
For every eligible printer cartridge turned into a
Wisconsin Staples store for reuse or recycling, the company will donate
$1 to WEAC's Professional Development
Academy (PDA) as part of its "Recycle for Education" program.
The program has been extended to December 31, 2005.
"WEAC is proud to participate in a program that
has a double benefit: It helps the environment and it provides funding
for an important education program," WEAC President Stan Johnson
said.
PDA will use the money to support the development
and delivery of quality professional development programs for WEAC members.
Those programs include certification for education support professionals,
an online substitute teacher training program, substitute teacher training
classes, mentor training modules, and various inservices and workshops.
PDA is now developing two new online classes: a classroom management
course; and a tutorial in reading, writing and math for paraeducators.
WEAC members and others can participate in the "Recycle for Education"
program at Staples stores through December 31.
