NEA's new online community for educators, OWL.org, is flying! Log on to
www.owl.org to connect with colleagues
nationwide to share knowledge, expertise and professional support.
Registration is free and open to anyone interested in kids and public
education. WEAC members have special access to members-only areas, as
well as offers and discounts from OWL.org's partners.
The site offers WEAC and NEA members education tips, strategies, and
materials, and access to the top Web resources for educators. OWL.org
is "Educators Helping Educators," with online discussion boards
and other interactive features that let members share opinions and make
connections.
OWL.org is organized into four sections:
- My Profession contains of information and stories related to teaching
and job performance.
- My Life has articles designed to meet association members' personal
interests including health, finance, cooking and horoscopes.
- My Association provides up-to-date information on what is happening
at the NEA.
- My State offers WEAC members the latest news, policy and professional
resources available, plus the opportunity to connect with other Wisconsin
educators.
In addition to articles and information, OWL.org's partners provide a
wealth of features to support association members including:
- Online professional development brought to you at a member discount
by Onlinelearning.net and SkyLight.
- Job placement services through Teachers-Teachers.com
- Lesson plans and professional development from PBS.org
