WEAC's Cebulski Elected to NEA Executive Committee
Delegates to the NEA Representative Assembly elected WEAC member Mark
Cebulski to a two-year term on the NEA Executive Committee.
Cebulski,
who has taught social studies at Cedarburg High School for 30 years,
is a member of North Shore United Educators. He first served on the
NEA Executive Committee in August 2003 when he was appointed to serve
a one-year term.
Cebulski has been a union leader at the local, state and national level.
He served as both vice president and president of his local association,
the Cedarburg Education Association, and as a member of the WEAC Board
of Directors and WEAC Political Action Committee. At the national level,
Cebulski was a member of the NEA Board of Directors and Congressional
Contact Team.
As a teacher, Cebulski has dedicated himself to helping his students
succeed. He sponsored his school's Academic Decathlon program and coached
football, basketball and golf.
During his career, Cebulski has been honored for excellence and service
to his community. He received the Wisconsin Association of Educators
for the Gifted and Talented Meritorious Award and the North Shore United
Educators Dorothy Bartelt for Outstanding Service to Education Award,
among others.
NEA RA delegates re-elected Michael Marks, a high school teacher from
Mississippi, and Rebecca Pringle, a physical science teacher Pennsylvania,
to three-year terms on the NEA Executive Committee.
The committee is comprised of nine members — three executive
officers and six members elected at-large by the RA.
