More Locals Implement Job Actions
More than 80 days after contracts throughout the state expired, 315 districts
still have not negotiated new contracts with their teachers.
"Pressure continues to build in districts where boards are not making
fair offers," WEAC President Terry Craney said. "Locals are
looking at potential actions to show they are frustrated and will stand
up for what's right."
Nicolet teachers have begun to "work to contract," and Racine
teachers boycotted a recent school open house. Germantown is also initiating
action.
An advertisement explaining the current bargaining crisis, in the form
of a column by WEAC President Terry Craney, ran in 16 newspapers across
Wisconsin.
