WEAC Legislative Agenda Gets Early Attention
Several of WEACs Legislative Agenda items were
among the first bills introduced in the new legislative session this
month.
Four of five of the measures deal with exemptions from revenue controls.
Two bills (Senate and Assembly companion bills) increase a school districts
revenue limit by the amount the district spends on school security measures.
Other bills change the way school district special assessments are
treated under revenue controls, and increase a districts revenue
limit for debt service incurred to comply with an order issued by a
court or by a state or federal agency.
The fifth bill makes technical college education eligible for the work
requirement under the Wisconsin Works welfare program.
