Cyberlobby II Comes to Convention

For the second year in a row, WEAC members and guests will have an opportunity to e-mail elected officials directly from computers set up at the WEAC Convention October 29-30 in Madison.

Members are urged to participate in the Cyberlobby by going to Exhibit Hall A at the Dane County Exposition Center. There, they will find a series of computers and friendly staff and colleagues. The computers will be set up to the Cyberlobby page of OnWEAC, which provides direct e-mail links to state legislators, the governor and U.S. senators and representatives.

This area of OnWEAC also provides background and talking points on issues you may want to address when communicating with officials. You will get help in locating this information and in putting your e-mails together.

Last year, about 500 members took advantage of this service at the Convention. Most messages focused on the need to repeal or significantly modify the Qualified Economic Offer law and school district revenue controls, but you are free to send whatever messages you like.

The Cyberlobby is primarily a project of the WEAC Legislative Committee and the WEAC government relations and technology staff.
