Ferber School paraprofessionals help Appleton Emergency Shelter

5/16/2011 2:42:55 PM

As participants in the Thrivent Financial Lion project, Edna Ferber Elementary School Staff were challenged to come up with a service project benefiting our community. Thrivent, in turn, pledged $1,000 to one of Ferber’s charitable funds. We felt it only right that we, as the Ferber Paraprofessional unit step up to the challenge. After researching community needs, we unanimously decided to take up a collection for needed items for the residents at the Emergency Shelter in Appleton. Using their suggested needs list, we brought together a large variety of new household and personal care items, in hope that it will bring some comfort, support and happiness to families in need. We thank Thrivent for giving us this challenge. We thank the school district for their support given to us as Paraprofessionals. We are pleased to present our service project to the Emergency Shelter and to the Appleton Area School District.
