Rice Lake educators rally in solidarity

4/18/2011 3:55:46 PM

Educators in the Rice Lake area and members of the Blue Hills Solidarity Network held a rally Saturday, April 16, to protest the Republican Lincoln Day dinner in Rice Lake. Approximately 300 union members and progressives turned out on a very cold, very windy day to protest the Republican agenda, greeting each bus load of dinner attendees as they entered the venue. Speakers included Northwest United Educators President Dan Tripp (pictured above).

Weac has capitulated to the Governor.  I was at the Rice Lake protest and there were more WITC participants than Weac supporters.  When you told teachers to go back to the classrooms when sick-outs were gaining momentum, you waved the white flag.
Republican insiders know that teachers will not strike and view Weac as  an organization that is no longer potent.  You must not wait for upcoming elections.  You must energize and militarize now.  Members waited sixteen years for the QEO to be repealed and this situation is much worse.
