Musicians strike a note of solidarity at benefit concert

4/4/2011 12:57:50 PM

Click above to hear WEAC President Mary Bell urge attendees of a benefit concert Sunday that elections matter and that the continued work to stand up against attacks on Wisconsin’s public services is “a critical fight for all working families.”

Wisconsin musicians struck a chord Sunday – in more ways than one – with a building-solidarity concert at the Barrymore Theater in Madison organized by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 251. The concert featured more than half a dozen musical acts as well as speakers, raising awareness of Tuesday’s elections and the continued efforts to stand up for Wisconsin and against the attacks on public education and other services.

The concert featured The Kissers, Cork ’n Bottle String Band (pictured below), Stephanie Rearick, Ken Lonnquist (also pictured below), and The Apologists.
