Parents, kids flock to WEAC Family Variety Stage at State Fair
8/6/2010 11:47:45 AM

The fun-filled WEAC Family Variety Stage at the Wisconsin State Fair is proving very popular among children and parents alike. Family-friendly shows are drawing crowds to the stage, which is just to the left of Gate 4 as you enter the Fair, in an area known as the Big Backyard (see map below). The WEAC Family Variety Stage is an incredible place for kids to not only be entertained but get involved in the performances taking place! Laughter and excitement is always brewing at the stage with featured performances including Mallory Lewis with Lamb Chop & Hush Puppy, Pint Size Polkas, Steve Trash’s “Green Magic Class,” Nick’s Kids Show, Kenny Ahern, The Recycle Show, Kandu & Co. Magic Show, Marvels of Motion and Kandu’s Wild `n Wacky Game Show.
This is also a place where you can pick up a copy of the WEAC Classroom Connections brochure, which includes dozens of back-to-school tips for parents and kids. From time to time, WEAC members are handing out the brochure to parents at the stage.
On opening day, Port Washington High School Teachers Nora Dygon (left, top photo) and Cyndi Hansen were among those who distributed Classroom Connections. Among the acts performing are Kandu & Co. (lower photo), who bring kids on stage to participate in activities. The Fair runs through August 15 in West Allis.
