During the 2005 WEAC Winter Conference, Terri Trimbell,
MEA chief negotiator, was awarded WEAC's Paul Bierbrauer Award for excellence
in bargaining for her strength and courage during the 2003-05 negotiations,
in which the board used a series of abhorrent tactics to try to force
an unfair settlement on MEA members. (More)
Those tactics included personal attacks on the union's leadership and
other unacceptable labor practices.
