More than 60 Delavan-Darien Education Association members gather outside before packing the September 9 (2002) meeting of the Delavan-Darien Board of Education. The message, as spoken by chief negotiator Doreen Grams, was clear: Teachers salaries has stagnated for too many years, and the board needs to be reminded that it takes quality educators to maintain a quality school. DDEA members have been working without a contract since June 30, 2001.
