What is the best gift you could receive from a student?

  This week I gave a colleague a gift at school -- she is not an educator in the classroom at the present time but she could very well be! She is our district translator. Her professionalism, kindness, warmth, great intellectual curiosity, and intelligence,  including her past training as a scientist, have always made me admire and respect her deeply. So, I surprised her with a gift and note. She is so humble and sweet. What a wonderful contribution she makes to our school and community! We are extremely fortunate to have her working with us.
