It's the little things that matter

If you spend much time on the Home Page of weac.org, or any of the main Landing Pages (for WEAC Retired, ESP, etc.), you have no doubt noticed the colorful boxes that highlight items at the top of page. We call these rotating galleries the Special Features boxes. Unfortunately, you've probably also noticed that if you clicked on an arrow to migrate through the items in those boxes, it was - to put it mildly - not always rapidly responsive to your clicks.

Frankly, these high-profile boxes, designed to draw attention to the top stories or most important information of the day, just never quite worked as well as we hoped since we launched this version of weac.org in February of last year.

As of today, that has all changed.

We have upgraded these boxes so they do what you ask them to and do it quickly. If you click on the forward arrow, you will see the next panel immediately. In addition, you will now see numbers below the graphics so you can immediately jump to any panel you like with one simple click.

In the overall scheme of things, this may seem like a small thing. And, granted, it takes us to a place we should have been long ago. But I believe it is a big step forward in the  continuous process of improving weac.org.

We never stop trying to find ways to make the site easier to use and more useful and informative. Do you have any suggestions for how we can make weac.org better? Please don't hesitate to let me know. You can comment right here right now or send me an email at hurleyb@weac.org.
