Mary Cuene, an instructor at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and a WEAC member, has been elected President of the Wisconsin Technical College State Board. WEAC President Stan Johnson said, “As a faculty member, Mary Cuene brings an in-depth understanding of technical education and classroom issues to the position of WTCS State Board President. I’m confident that her knowledge and leadership will move the Board forward.” The WTCS State Board is the governing body for the technical college system, establishing statewide policy and overseeing educational programming. The 13-member Board annually elects a board president, vice president and treasurer. In addition to presiding over the Board and serving as it spokesperson, the WTCS State Board President serves as an ex-officio member on the UW Board of Regents. Mary was appointed to the WTCS State Board by Governor Jim Doyle in 2003. Congratulations Mary. |
