WCTC Part-Time United Faculty- News Update #8 -January 21, 1999Ruling on Upcoming Representation Election Expected in March A decision from the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission (WERC) is anticipated by mid-March on our petition to form the WCTC Part-Time United Faculty. The WERC will establish how voting will proceed, when the election will take place, and which part-time faculty will be eligible to vote (based on which semesters of teaching will qualify). They will also determine if Part-Time United Faculty will be included with WCTC Full-Time faculty under one contract or if there will be two contracts: a Part-Time and a Full-Time contract. Part-Time United Faculty, WCTEA, and College Holding Talks WCTC Part-Time United Faculty representatives have been meeting regularly with College officials and Board members to discuss issues relating to the upcoming election. You will soon be receiving a joint letter (if you haven't already received it) outlining an agreement reached on pay for this current school year, 1998-99. Mark your calendar for Legislative Reception-February 25 You are invited to attend WCTC Part-Time United Faculty's Legislative Reception on Thursday February 25, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in WCTC's Fireside Lounge (Pewaukee Campus). All ten state legislators who represent WCTC's district have been invited. Watch for your personal invitation in mid-February.
