Bay Lakes United Educators (BLUE) is affiliated with the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC) and the National Education Association (NEA).
BLUE was created as of 9/1/10 by the merger of the Bayland Educators UniServ and the United Northeast Educators (UNE) UniServ. For a detailed history of the organization click on the heading "History of United Northeast Educators (UNE) and Bayland Educators" .
WHO GOVERNS BLUE?
Once a year locally elected local teacher and ESP delegates meet at the BLUE Representative Assembly (RA). The RA delegates review the proposed activities and programs for BLUE; adopt a BLUE program budget for funding the year's activities; and elect the BLUE Board of Directors.
WHAT IS BLUE?
The BLUE UniServ is a labor union made up of 74 locals. BLUE currently represents 41 teacher bargaining units and 32 educational support personnel (ESP) units. In addition there is a BLUE-Retired local. The more than 6,000 members represented by BLUE are employed in 39 area K-12 school districts, the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and Brown County's Syble Hopp School for children with disabilities.
