Brad Lutes, a physical education and health teacher at Royal Oaks Elementary School in Sun Prairie, was elected as an alternate to the National Education Association (NEA) Board of Directors in 2009.
In his 12 years as a teacher, Lutes has been a very active member of WEAC. He has been a member of both the Spencer Education Association and the Sun Prairie Education Associations (SPEA). Three of the seven years he has been in the SPEA he has served as local president. He served on the association’s Bargaining Team for three terms and also was a member of the Local Solidarity Team.
Lutes also has served as an alternate to the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC) Board of Directors and served on WEAC’s Constitution and Bylaws, PAC and Audit committees. At the national level, Lutes has served on the NEA State Steering Committee.
Lutes lives in Sun Prairie.
