Under Siege' TV Infomercial Airing Statewide in May
A new WEAC television infomercial is airing throughout
the state in May. The infomercial – titled “Great Schools
Under Siege” – urges viewers to call upon their elected officials
to support great schools.
The infomercial illustrates some of the negative effects
of state-imposed school district revenue controls and the federal government’s
so-called “No Child Left Behind” law. It is narrated by Green
Bay teacher Kelli Rose and features interviews with WEAC members, U.S.
Senator Russ Feingold, State Superintendent Elizabeth Burmaster, students
and others.
The infomercial premiers Sunday, May 1, and will appear
in the Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison, La Crosse and Wausau markets.
It also will be available through the Milwaukee area
cable system's Video on Demand system May 2 - 29. Milwaukee area cable
subscribers in homes with digital cable can watch "Great Schools
Under Siege" any time through Video on Demand. Watching the program
will not cost anything extra.
