NEA Launches New Web Site for Educators, Parents & Community

The National Education Association has launched a
newly enhanced Web site, NEA Interactive. The site is available at www.nea.org,
and offers top-notch professional resources for educators, support for
parents and communities, and a special area for NEA members.
"The National Education Association is creating the number one
resource Web site for educators," NEA President Reg Weaver said.
"As we continue to develop nea.org, we will include more tools
for education professionals as well as ways to involve parents and community
members."
The site combines the members-only professional resources previously
available on OWL.org with the NEA's public Web site, which contains
information about education issues like the Elementary and Secondary
Education Act, tips for parents, association news and more. Members
who registered with OWL.org will have instant access to NEA Interactive's
Members Only area without having to re-register.
By visiting the Members Only area, educators can access discussion
boards on a variety of topics, newsletter resources for local associations,
information about grants and other professional development opportunities,
member benefits information and more. The Members Only area also includes
the NEA Marketplace, which offers discounts on products like online
professional development and long-distance phone service.
The site offers resources about NEA's special events, such as Read
Across America, National Teacher Day and American Education Week. There
is also information about NEA meetings and organizational documents,
and a Legislative Action Center.
New content is posted regularly, so bookmark www.nea.org
to stay on top of education issues and association activities.
