WEAC Wins Awards for Teaching & Learning, PR
WEAC has won two national awards for teaching and
learning projects.
The National Staff Association for the Improvement
of Instruction awarded WEAC teaching and learning consultant Ron Jetty
first place for a guide for members seeking National Board certification.
The “Guide for Documents Accomplished” was developed by
Jetty and member Cathy Anderson, who is a nationally certified teacher
from Eau Claire.
WEAC teaching and learning consultant Russ Allen was
awarded first place for the “Understanding Your Child’s
Test Results” brochure.
Also this fall, WEAC won six awards at the annual
conference of the Wisconsin School Public Relations Association.
WEAC won Spectrum Awards of Excellence for OnWEAC,
its Web site; OnWEAC Direct,
its weekly electronic newsletter for all members; OnWEAC
Update, its weekly electronic newsletter for local association and
UniServ leaders; the WEAC pocket calendar; the Great Schools cultural
exhibit; and Bea Badger
animations, which were sent to members and others via e-mail and
made available on OnWEAC.
The seven Bea Badger animations cover issues including
salaries and bargaining, health benefits, the Elementary and Secondary
Education Act, school funding, education support professionals, and
the importance of voting.
The OnWEAC Home Page has a link to the Bea Badger
animations under Quick Clicks, or you can go directly to this page:
www.weac.org/
GreatSchools/meetbea.htm.
The OnWEAC Home Page also has a link, under Quick
Clicks, to a page of information about OnWEAC
Direct, including a form to immediately sign up. Although information
in OnWEAC Direct is geared specifically to the interests of members,
and some of the links go to the Members Only section, you do not have
to be a member to sign up for OnWEAC Direct. Update is available only
to members identified as local or UniServ leaders.
