Reg Weaver's Radio Message to Focus on ESEA
"NEA is working hard with elected leaders to
fix the so-called No Child Left Behind law," NEA President Reg
Weaver says in a new radio advertisement that will air in Eau Claire
and Green Bay during the week of February 9-13.
The 60-second message, titled "Right Track," is part of a
series of advertisements that focus on the flaws of the Elementary and
Secondary Education Act, often misleadingly referred to as the "No
Child Left Behind" law.
The ads are part of a national advertising campaign, with selected
local target areas. "Right Track" will air on WAXX, WECL and
WQRB in Eau Claire, and WIXX, WOGB and WQLH in Green Bay.
In the ad, Weaver says the NEA's goals to fix ESEA are "to replace
the one-size-fits-all approach with individualized instruction, to focus
on real student achievement instead of single test scores," and
"to target resources on things that work, like small class sizes."
