WEAC Distributes New Video for Members
WEAC is distributing a new video, "We Are WEAC," to members
this fall. The 11-minute video will help new and veteran members alike
learn about the union's organization, leadership, services and benefits.
WEAC members can order a free copy of the video by visiting OnWEAC's
Members Only Web site.
Caryn Peters, a member of the Howard Suamico Education Association, serves
as the video's host.
WEAC members from locals throughout Wisconsin appear in the video to
talk about their experiences with the union. Tri-County Education Association
member Jessica Rettler discusses OnWEAC, WEAC's award-winning Web site.
" I don't think you can find a more complete, comprehensive education
resource anywhere on the Web," she said. "And for WEAC members,
there's so much information and so many opportunities there that it's
just invaluable."
"We Are WEAC" is a project of WEAC's Public Relations and Communications
campuses. Director Dick Vander Woude said that he hopes the video helps
new members become acquainted with their union. "The union exists
to support its members both in and out of the classroom," he said.
"We want to make sure members know about the wide range of services
and benefits available to them."
Copies of the video will be distributed soon to UniServ offices. WEAC
members can also request a copy for their locals by contacting Cindy Jensen
at jensenc@weac.org or by phone
(800) 362-8034, ext. 224.
