Trust Enhances Online Services

When it comes to selecting an insurance company for your auto and home insurance, the choices can be overwhelming.

The major insurance carriers advertise aggressively in the national media, and each touts its superiority over all the others. They make it sound so good, you wonder if any insurer can really deliver on its promises. While some of these companies do deliver good products and service, they are in the business to make profits.

There is only one organization created specifically to suit the insurance needs of Wisconsin’s public school employees, the WEA Trust. The Trust currently insures the autos or homes of about 10,000 WEAC members, providing dependable protection and unbiased advice about what members need.

In addition, as a member-based organization, the Trust offers more. For example, the Trust has responded to members’ requests for convenient access to their auto and home insurance policies by adding certain features to our Web site.

Included in our online section (available at www.weatrust.com) is a quick quote feature for obtaining premium rates on auto or home insurance. For members who already participate in our program, they can use our online section to file an auto or home claim and update their policy information.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the online features:
Get a quote: You can receive a premium quote by visiting the “Get a Quote” feature of our Web site. This option allows you to learn about the Trust’s auto and home programs at your convenience with no obligation.

It takes only a couple of minutes to complete the information. You will be required to enter general information about yourself and provide information about your home or cars. For auto coverage, we need a brief history of the driving records for the drivers in your household who request coverage.

You should have a copy of your current policy easily accessible while filling out the quote feature. If you are uncertain about the type or amount of coverage you need, the site provides help through a section called our Best Advice. This provides the Trust’s recommended coverage levels that typically apply to members.

You will receive your premium quote in two to three business days by e-mail, by phone, or by mail – you decide. After receiving the quote, you can talk with one of our Member Service Consultants for additional information or to enroll in the auto or home insurance programs.

Update your policy: For those who currently have Trust auto or home insurance, you can update your policy information online. For example, if you change lienholders on your auto loan or refinance your home mortgage, you can let the Trust know about this change online. Other updates you can make to your policy include:

  • Request changes in coverage
  • Add/delete drivers
  • Change address
  • Add/delete vehicles

File a claim: You can file a claim online for your home or auto policy. For a home claim, we will ask you to write a brief description of how the loss occurred and include any damage to your home or other properties.

For auto claims, you must include details of the accident, such as when it occurred, whether the police were called, and if other vehicles were involved.

Once you submit a claim, a Trust claims specialist will contact you to advise you on obtaining repairs and settling your claim.
Among the raft of insurers for auto and home insurance, the Trust’s program delivers protection you can count on from an organization that you know. While other insurers say they are distinctive in the market, the Trust stands out because it is uniquely suited to meet the needs of the state’s public school employees.
