132 Seniors Named All-State Scholars
Public and private high school principals throughout
Wisconsin nominated nearly 650 seniors for consideration in the All-State
Scholars program.
The 132 winners received the Robert C. Byrd federal
honors scholarship of $1,500. The scholarship can be renewed if the student
maintains a satisfactory enrollment with their chosen college and if federal
funding is provided.
A representative committee selected scholars from the
state's nine congressional districts based on their grade-point averages
and ACT or SAT scores. The winners were honored at an awards cereminy
held April 29 in Madison.
Sponsors for the All-State Scholars program include
the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators' Wisconsin Foundation
for Educational Administration, Wisconsin State Journal, WEAC and DPI.
