Longtime WEAC Leader Bob Lay Dies

Longtime WEAC leader Bob Lay died on September 18.

Lay was a physical education teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in Hartford for 27 years. He began his teaching career in Iron River in 1953 and taught in Almond before coming to Hartford.

Lay was a long-time president and negotiator for the Hartford Elementary Education Association. He also served on the Cedar Lakes United Educators Board of Directors and the WEAC Board of Directors from 1991 to 1996.

Lay retired in 1996 and had moved to Arizona, where he died unexpectedly.
