It's Not Our Money

However,
he had been putting it off for one reason or another. Then, he attended
two financial seminars close together where retirement was the hot topic.
I thought it was time to do something for my retirement even though
I still had other things to worry about like saving for the kids
college education, he says.
Tom, who has been teaching now for almost 30 years, opened an account
with the WEA Tax Sheltered Annuity Trust in 1986. Why did he choose the
Trust?
Well, this may sound corny, but I trust the Trust, he says.
You know that theyve got your best interest at heart. And
no one can beat the fixed rate they offer.
Tom has been in Eau Claire since 1980. These days he helps kids with
reading, but his teaching career has also involved teaching English and
Social Studies. As president of his local association, hes familiar
with the challenges educators face.
Thats why he feels strongly that members should start a tax-sheltered
annuity as soon as possible. Saving for retirement doesnt get easier,
he says. And once a member is set up with the Trust, it is
easy to change the amount being withheld from the paycheck for a tax-sheltered
annuity.
I know that used to be a concern for many members that they
would be locked into a fixed amount and couldnt do anything if they
needed the money. Now, with new rules, they can change the amount they
want put into their TSA.
