Advocacy Organization Focuses on Fixing, Funding ESEA
Communities
for Quality Education is a national education advocacy organization
focused on communicating to the public the drawbacks of the federal
Elementary and Secondary Education Act, sometimes referred to as the
No Child Left behind law. The group also seeks to make public education
a central issue in the November 2004 elections.
The organization is working with parents, teachers, students and community
leaders to address the education funding crises faced by states that
are attempting to implement the law.
By working to build broad-based support to fix and fund the law, CQE
supports state-based reform, resolving contradictory and unrealistic
elements of ESEA, encouraging parent-teacher communication and placing
a quality teacher in every classroom.
