1,100 Students Lobby Against Tobacco at State Capitol

About 1,100 students, including this spirited group from Riverside Middle School in Watertown, descended on the State Capitol April 28 to talk with legislators about the dangers of tobacco use. The theme for the Smoke-Free Kids at the Capitol Day was “Hey, Tobacco Companies, Don’t Target Me!” Students in grades 6 through 9 from 45 schools throughout the state participated in meetings with legislators, attended workshops and held a rally on the steps of the Capitol.
