More locals succeed with school board resolutions
A growing number of school boards are calling for the repeal of the Qualified Economic Offer law and revenue controls, and for an adequately funded school finance system, thanks to efforts by WEAC members.
School boards are adopting resolutions at the request of locals participating in the Great Schools Statewide Action Plan.
According to WEAC data, at least 17 locals have asked their school boards to adopt a resolution, and at least seven boards have done so.
School boards in Appleton, Clintonville, Cuba City, Delavan, Park Falls, Slinger and Waukesha have adopted resolutions at the request of WEAC locals.

Legislative leaders are in place and the agenda is taking shape for the 2005-2007 session that begins in January.
The top issues for leaders of the Republican-controlled Legislature are a proposed constitutional amendment to limit government spending and a property tax freeze.
"The education community is in for a tough two years," WEAC President Stan Johnson said. "The Taxpayer Bill of Rights constitutional amendment and the property tax freeze would inflict serious damage on our great schools. All WEAC members will be called on to fight these and other anti-public education proposals. WEAC is preparing for the new session, and local leaders can expect to be asked to participate in activities as the session starts."
