WEAC President Mary Bell, WEAC Vice President Guy Costello, WEAC Secretary-Treasurer Betsy Kippers and WEAC Executive Director Dan Burkhalter will kick off the 11th annual Read Across America celebration at Clement Elementary School in Milwaukee on February 29.
The Milwaukee event will be part of WEAC/NEA’s 11th Annual RAA celebration, where more than 45 million parents, community members, students and people of all walks of life are expected to join in nationwide festivities. The leadership team will also visit several schools throughout the state where they will don the popular stove pipe had and read beloved Dr. Seuss classics to children.
WEAC has produced the RAA bookmarks and they will be mailed out the week of February 11 to UniServ offices throughout the state. The UniServs, in turn, will get them to local members.
