RA delegates approve three additions to WEAC Resolutions
Delegates to the 2007 WEAC Representative Assembly Saturday (April 21, 2007) approved three additions to the WEAC Resolutions. They were:
- To Resolution B-7 Gifted and Talented: “The WEAC believes that all students identified as gifted and talented shall have an educational plan provided that aligns with Wisconsin Educational Standards, with the appropriate accommodations for each student. The Council further believes that gifted and talented programming must be funded at levels adequate for effective local implementation.”
- To Resolution B-10 Special Subject Education: “The Council opposes the replacement of licensed media specialists with non-licensed media specialists as a means of saving district funds.”
- To B-36 Safety and Well-Being of Education Employees and Students: “The Council believes school districts must develop and implement policies that control access to buildings and keep students and staff safe from violence in schools.”
Delegates defeated the only change proposed to WEAC Bylaws. The proposed change related to dues structure for education support professionals.
