Message: I am proud and honored to be a WI NBCT. I began the journey in 1999 and certified as an ‘advanced’ candidate in 2000. I do not shy away from this initial result; in fact, I sometimes refer to myself as “Mr. ‘274’”! Through the National Board process I learned to collaborate with colleagues and I encourage all of you to do the same. Since achieving National Certification, I have continued to give back to my profession. Currently I serve as a statewide National Board facilitator (my area of ‘comfort’ is videotaping), co-teacher of monthly support seminars for educators under the PI 34 licensure program, and online facilitator for WEAC’s Professional Development Academy. I am in my 18 th year of teaching and I currently teach in the Social Studies Department at Hudson High School.
