Teacher of the Year Representative Attends D.C. Program

Lori Neurohr, a 2nd-grade teacher at Kohler Elementary School, had the opportunity to meet Dr. Henry Levin of Columbia University at the NEA Research Visiting Scholars program in Washington, D.C., November 20. Levin is the author of "The Price We Pay: Economic and Social Consequences of Inadequate Education." Neurohr was invited to the event in her role as Wisconsin's representative in the national Teacher of the Year program. NEA Research reserves a spot for a state Teacher of the Year for each visiting scholars event. These presentations focus on a variety of teacher quality and public education issues including teacher preparation, National Board Certification, English language learners, and closing the achievement gap. Nationally renowned scholars share their research and perspectives with participants.
