Members of the Appleton Education Association display their solidarity by wearing Great Schools T-shirts. AEA President Dianne Lang (far left) said she received a block grant from WEAC-Fox Valley to purchase 650 Wisconsin Great Schools T-shirts and sell them to members at a discount. "We are having AEA Unity Days every Friday at least through I See Red Day on October 15th," Lang said. The AEA also gave a T-shirt to each of the new hires who attended the AEA's new member get-together August 26. All the members above are teachers at Horizons Elementary School. "I thought it was quite amazing that we had that many of our staff wearing the shirts that day. And once others saw them, they also ordered shirts. If I would do a retake this Friday, there would easily be twice as many in the photo," Lang said. "We have around 45 AEA members at Horizons, and I'd say at least 30 have purchased the shirts." Members throughout the state are asked to wear the shirts, matching sweatshirts, or anything red on I See Red Day October 15, an activity organized as part of the Great Schools Statewide Action Plan.
