Three-year old Grace Korger (top) helps her mother, Katie, tally sales at the WEAC Book Zone during the 10th annual Kids Expo in Madison April 23, 2005. Katie Korger, a graphic designer, was one of many employees of Capital Newspapers who volunteered to work the WEAC exhibit.

Dr. Seuss’s beloved Cat in the Hat looks on (below) as WEAC member Suzanne Egan, of Oak Creek, talks with children during the Kids Expo. Scholastic, the largest publisher of children’s books, provided materials for the mini-bookstore at the WEAC-sponsored Book Zone. A portion of the proceeds is going to the Red Lake School District in Minnesota, site of a tragic shooting this spring.
