Parents, community members, educators and students enjoy
great food at the Gillett Education Association's 4th annual Chili Dinner
on Friday, February 6, at Gillett High School. The proceeds are used
for GEA Student Scholarships given to high school seniors that are entering
the field of education. The cost of a ticket was $4 which included a
bowl of chili, choice of beverage, cheese and crackers, and a dessert.
Hot dogs were also available. The Gillett Tiger girls' basketball team
played the Suring Eagles following the Chili Dinner. A small group of
teachers sang The Star-Spangled Banner before the game. The evening
was a big success, with more than 220 community members attending the
supper. It was a great way to show community pride.
