espwings

Four education support personnel representatives from Wisconsin display wings they received from an airline pilot after a harrowing experience on their trip to the NEA ESP Conference in Charlotte, N.C. Cheryl Glazer from Stevens Point, Sue Smits from DePere, Kay Hansen from Denmark and Pam Fairchild from Stevens Point were on the same flight to Charlotte, all sitting in the emergency exit row, when, a half hour out of Detroit, the flight attendant advised passengers to prepare for an emergency landing. The pilot was forced to dump the plane's fuel in midair, and the plane was running on battery reserve power, which the flight attendant said wouldn't last long. Fortunately, the plane made a safe emergency landing at the Columbus, Ohio, airport and the only casualty was rattled nerves. Nonetheless, this group of brave educators who were prepared to assist in any way necessary in the emergency exit row, proved again that "ESPs Can Do It All." "Whatever is asked of us, we always come through," Hansen said.

Glazer and Hansen are on the WEAC ESP Committee; Smits is an ESP at-large representative on the WEAC Board; and Fairchild is an ESP member in the Stevens Point Area School District.
