High school juniors interning with legislators meet with WEAC president

WEAC President Mary Bell talks with four Janesville-area high school juniors serving summer internships under the Tim Cullen Government Internship Program.

Four Janesville-area high school juniors serving summer internships with elected officials in the Legislature met and talked with WEAC President Mary Bell on Friday, discussing education policy and curriculum approaches.

Craig High School juniors Greta Becker and Nick Gorman along with Parker High School juniors Ann Armstrong and Aaron Rohm talked with Bell about standardized testing, how best to motivate students and offer a well-rounded education,

All four students were nominated for the Tim Cullen Government Internship Program by teachers. Becker is interning for Senator Jim Holperin, Gorman is interning for Senator Dale Schultz, Armstrong is interning for Representative Andy Jorgensen, and Rohm is interning for Representatives Evan Wynn, Joe Knilans, and Amy Loudenbeck.
